Xbox One Revealed

Okay so the time has finally arrived when Microsoft have revealed their new console called The Xbox One, bit of a strange name and certainly unexpected with such rumours of the 'Xbox 720' and Xbox Infinity' kicking around. The new system looks set to be a true contender for the best console ever, and will certainly give the PlayStation 4 a run for it's money. Join me now for this exclusive blog post on the reveal and a video tomorrow so you can all catch up in any way that you wish :)

Microsoft were very quick to show the new console, controller and new Kinect sensor and exactly what they can do, for example the new Kinect Sensor will be able to recognise your name and voice and have a much better camera, a 1080P HD camera to be exact, this enables for precise tracking and a deeper field of view. It also works closely with the brand new controller enabling you to use controller gestures in certain games. The new controller has a new ergonomic feel for more precise actions when playing games. Don Mattrick took to the stage stating that the new Xbox One will be an 'all in one system for games, tv, simple instant and complete.'

It was then Yusuf Mehdi's turn to take to the stage and this guy was like a freaking genie when he came on , he moved over to the new console and with the simple phrase of 'Xbox On' the Xbox One sprang in to life, Kinect can now turn on your new console and there are brand new gestures for the dashboard, a dashboard which is your own personal space. Areas such as 'trendy' where you can see a live feed of what others are doing and a revamped 'recent' section allow for a much easier and interactive experience. A new feature called instant switching allows switching from one form of media to the other was also brought to the forefront, and when they say instant they mean instant, no lag or anything, whether it comes to truth when we actually get it in our homes is a different matter but I sure as hell hope so. Skype is also now available and through the HD Kinect camera video calls are instant and crisp. A new partnership with ESPN and NFL means that subscribers to ESPN can watch their favourite sports on their Xbox One and NFL matches can be watched whenever you want, something my girlfriend is excited about being a Patriots fan :)

Then Marc Whitten comes on stage and confirms that the new Xbox One will indeed be always online it boasts 8GB RAM and a 500GB Hard-drive, a  Blu-Ray Drive however this is not known whether it is going to be used for actual game discs yet and no news as to whether you will be able to play Xbox360 games on it.  A new feel to Xbox Live and achievements being revamped looks set to make it much more social, content such as your games, films and music are stored in a cloud space and can be accessed anywhere and at any time. Xbox One also has a dedicated DVR to capture gameplay so that you can share your amazing skills with the world.

Andrew Wilson from EA takes to the stage and reveals that FIFA, NBA Live, NFL and UFC are to be launched for Xbox One and will be powered by the new game engine called EA Ignite they have also introduced new technology to give the player a greater field of vision, ten times more animation for depth and detail and also exclusive content only for Xbox One for FIFA 14 Ultimate Team more on this will be revealed at E3 this year.

Phil Spencer takes briefly to the stage and presents Forza Motorsport 5 which will be available at launch and also reveals that there will be 15 franchises coming to the new console and 8 of those will be brand new franchises.

Call of Duty ghosts has also been shown at the Xbox One reveal, and it looks absolutely fantastic and all of the DLC's will come to the Xbox One version of the game before any other console. The new game will feature new online multiplayer character customisation and interactive maps with floods and earthquakes to change the way you play really will change the way the game is played.

As of today there is no set release date for the Xbox One console but it was said that it will be released later this year. More information will be available at E3. As of now guys this is what I have for you, please check out my YouTube channel tomorrow for an exclusive video on my overview of the Xbox Reveal.
