So the Xbox 360 updates hits user's screens today and to be honest it is much better than I expected. Xbox 360 users had emails sent to them last week detailing what the update would bring, this included mostly technical updates but the main two things that caused excitement were Internet Explorer and the SmartGlass Application.
The overall technical update has really improved the overall look of the Xbox 360 Dashboard and makes it feel much more manoeuvrable and customisable with 'Pins' added to the home section where you can store all your favourite games, music and films for easy viewing and playing.
Internet Explorer looks fantastic and operates just as quick if not quicker than the PlayStation 3's internet browser, sites such as Facebook and Twitter are no trouble to display and it makes a refreshing change from the tired and clunky Facebook and Twitter apps that were previously on the Xbox market.
SmartGlass, the mobile application recently launched for Xbox 360 lets users start games and films on their console straight from their mobile device, the device can also be used as a controller for certain games but be warned it is severely lacking in a 'Start' button. As for the look and feel of 'SmartGlass' it really is in a league of it's own and as a first for console and application crossovers it really has set a high standard to be reached.
